Skepsos's skepsis

Unbelievable

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on April 30, 2010

The fact that Richard Dawkins gets so much attention in the media is actually worrying: it proves it is apparantly rare and noteworthy that one cannot believe in a god.

The foxhole delusion

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 24, 2010

My writing for today:

There are no sane people in foxholes.

This is a writing I based on the quote “there are no atheists in foxholes.” Theists use that one in order to ‘prove’ religion is some kind of justified default value and therefore ‘true.’
My point is: people who are about tot die in a foxhole do not necessarily have the best judgment…

God is just plagiarizing

The earth is fantastic, let’s acknowledge that and give some credit to the universe. It’s all selfmade. God is just plagiarizing.

Nontheist morals

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 5, 2010

I have been building up my moral conscience and ethics purely through my life’s experiences, talking to other people, forming my opinions and changing them constantly.
I wish one day everyone on this planet will be blessed with that privilage, instead of being forced into it through religion from their childhood on.

Easy wrath?

If I am really such a pervert, why doesn’t god punish me NOW, instead of waiting for me to be dead and defenseless?

New fascism

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 4, 2010

We should stop to compare wrong policies with fascism, because bringing Hitler into it makes everyone a victim of the Godwin rule.
I think it’s far more sensible to simply compare bad policies to religion. Since religion also turns rigid beliefs into rigid rules.

His Noodely Appendage

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 4, 2010

All these ridiculous beliefs and conspiracies… I almost hope one day the Flying Spagghetti Monster will come down to earth and reveal Itself as the one true and only god.
He will probably say “Oh and by the way: I built the pyramids, because you surely did not expect the Africans could’ve done this themselves?”

Holes

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 3, 2010

Religion is the worst way to fill up the holes science hasn’t been able to cover with sand yet.

Extremism I

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 2, 2010

Religion is especially dangerous when it tries to dominate our smallest sets of behaviours.

Past

Posted in Skepsos by skepsos on March 2, 2010

Religion was the first science but it has now been completely disproven.
